Steven Reilander is a versatile photographer, video creator, and public speaker who has worked in various areas of the entertainment industry. He signed with a talent agent in high school and started auditioning for local productions, as well as doing background work in the film industry. After graduation, he attended a convention where he was scouted by David Ralph with New York Models and signed an exclusive three-year contract.
Steven received his BFA in Film Production from the Melhopenheim School of Cinema at Concordia University in Montreal. While in school, he gained valuable technical and creative experience by assisting cinematographers on extracurricular projects. After moving back to the west coast, he worked in the film industry, dressing sets for feature films under Chad Krowchuk, a talented Vancouver actor and production designer. He later moved into post-production visual effects and landed a job with the world-renowned Double Negative Visual Effects, where he gained firsthand experience working with a multi-Academy Award-winning studio that creates the biggest-budget and highest-quality images.
Throughout his various film production roles, Steven continued to work on personal projects, including a retrospective video he produced for the David Foster Foundation. This video raised over $100,000 and led to further productions with the foundation, which has raised millions of dollars for Canadian families in need of financial support.
Currently, Steven’s focus is on fashion photography, talent portraits, and product photography. His work has been featured in numerous international fashion publications. He strives to capture intimate moments with his subjects to create timeless images.
